Cesar Chavez 1927 - 1993

Today is Cesar Chavez Day, it is also his birthday. Cesar Chavez was an ordinary man that took a stand against injustice. He dedicated his life to improving the working conditions of the migrant farmworker. He remained a humble and hard working man all of his life. He died an extraordinary man. Viva Chavez!

Anita Salazar De La O

The above photo is of my aunt Anita Salazar De La O (Ann D. Alley)and is a follow up to an earlier post on this site. Annie graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles in 1947 (I'm not 100% sure of the date).

Before and After

Meranda and the girls are staying with her grandmother this weekend in Spring Valley Lake. She sent me this photo via her cell phone of the breakfast she made this morning. Over easy eggs, chorizo con papas and homemade beans and tortillas. It doesn't get any better than this. She said I would be sorry I missed it. She was right.
