Shirley Temple 1928-2014

Shirley Temple has passed away. She was a true American icon and Hollywood legend and at her peak of popularity in the mid to late 1930's she was the most popular actress in Hollywood and across the globe. She was my first crush when I was a little boy in the 50's. I would plop myself every Saturday morning in front of the television to watch one of her movies. So many great movies too. Heidi, Captain January, Rebbecca of Sunnybrook Farm and so many more. My wife has all the movies on DVD and could most likely name them all.

 Her dance scenes with Bill "Bojangles" Robinson were the stuff of legends. Her movie career slowed down as she got older and she eventually left show business. She hosted a TV show for a short time called Shirley Temple's Story Book. In later years she became the Ambassador to Ghana. Most of her later years were spent out of the limelight.

 Rest in Peace Shirley Temple and thanks for all the good memories!
