A Cook's Ego

I'm no chef but at times - when all the stars are aligned - I can be a halfway decent home cook.

I've come to find out that, like most cooks or chefs, when it comes to cooking, I have an ego.

When I serve up something that I made, I may look nonchalant and casual but don't be fooled, I am observing your every move, the slightest nuance, your every reaction!

Me; So did you like it?

Whoever: It was good!

Me: What are you trying to say!!?

Whoever: Nothing, it was good!

Me: Oh my God, you hate it!

Whoever: Dad, I liked it!

Me: That's it? Just liked??!!

Whoever: Dad, stop with the drama!

Me: I don't know you anymore!!

If you don't believe me ask my kids. Other than that I'm almost like a normal person.
