Classic Photo: Corner of Philadelphia Street & Greenleaf Avenue Looking North. (Whittier, California)

An old photograph of the main intersection of Uptown Whittier, Philadelphia and Greenleaf. The drugstore on the right stood til the late 1980's or early 1990's when it was converted to a Rocky Cola restaurant. The original Drug Store had a small diner in it that served good basic food. Jeri and I ate there quite bit during the late 70's and throughout the 80's. This was a real deal old school drug store, not a retro. We still miss it. Just one more thing that is disappearing from the American landscape. Also, the shop on the right side of the photograph is now a Starbucks.
